Background

Chris joined Fernandes Hearn LLP as an associate lawyer after being admitted to the Ontario Bar, where he practices broadly in matters related to the transportation industry. In particular, Chris has represented an array of entities in the road, rail, air and marine transportation industries in disputes and contractual matters concerning the carriage of goods, including the interpretation of bills of lading, obligations under international conventions, matters addressing customs and freight brokerage, and property and casualty risks.

Chris has worked on disputes heard before private mediators, arbitrators and all levels of Ontario courts, including the Ontario Court of Appeal, as well as the Federal Court of Canada.

Chris holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto Law School, where he focused on domestic and international dispute resolution, and, at the same time, served as a research assistant for the war crimes prosecutors at the Special Court for Sierra Leone. Chris also holds an Honours Bachelor of the Arts in English and History from the University of Toronto, where he graduated with High Distinction.
