Background

James Lea has experience in all areas of the firm's litigation practice, including maritime, multi-modal, road-carriage, rail, aviation, freight-forwarding, warehousing and repair/storage-lien disputes. James has personally appeared before the Small Claims Court, Superior Court of Justice, and Court of Appeal of Ontario. James also has experience with disputes in the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Federal Court of Canada.

James is originally an Islander by birth (Prince Edward Island). He attended law school at Dalhousie University and received his LL.B. in 2009. While at Dalhousie, James studied maritime law and the law of the sea at Dalhousie's Marine and Environmental Law Institute and was awarded the Maritime Law Book Ltd. prize for obtaining the highest standing in the course "Legal Profession and Professional Responsibility." Additionally, James spent one semester studying Swedish law and human rights law at Lund University in Sweden
