Wayne is a corporate commercial and technology lawyer. Prior to joining Fernandes Hearn LLP Wayne was an associate at a midsize law firm that is located in downtown Toronto.
Wayne supports small and medium business enterprises. His practice includes tax driven corporate restructuring and merger and acquisition transactions. Companies regularly seek Wayne’s advice for legal and business implications related to acquiring or selling businesses by way of share or asset purchase and sale transactions. Also, he is highly involved with the day to day corporate and business needs of such companies. Those needs include drafting shareholder and partnership agreements, negotiating leases, license agreements and service agreements. Wayne is also a registered trademark agent. He has registered trademarks for corporations in the Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions.
Wayne has spent a portion of his career as in-house counsel for the technology transfer groups of Queen’s University and Mount Sinai.
Wayne provides legal services for a variety of industries such as transportation, logistics, technology, intellectual property, and fintech.
Wayne was admitted to the bar of Ontario in 2006. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2005. Wayne also holds an Honors Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto (2001) with majors in neuroscience and psychology.
